Mineral based emulsion, earth pigments on botanical paper with clay

£475.00

Blurring the boundaries between painting and sculpture.

I have personally made the botanical paper and the mineral‑based casein emulsion, creating an abstract work that feels ancient.

The surface holds the colours of lichen, oxidised stone, and weathered earth, settling into the folds and textures.

The two clay feet act as both support and anchor, grounding the piece in prehistoric craft traditions. Their incised markings echo the rhythmic, geometric patterns of Beaker ceramics, creating a dialogue between ancient human touch and contemporary material exploration. Together, the elements form a contemplative object, part landscape, part artefact.

For collectors drawn to archaeological sensibilities, natural materials, and sculptural works that feel unearthed rather than made, this piece offers a deeply tactile and atmospheric encounter.

A unique sculpture created through slow, traditional processes, rooted in research into early British histories, material memory, and the enduring marks left by human hands.
